Plant Overview and History
Padgett Incorporated has been serving the Kentuckiana area since 1962. Jim Padgett started the company modestly with one truck and one welder. He soon saw an increasing need in the area for crane service.
Padgett’s first crane was a boom-truck that Jim built himself. The fabrication and crane services soon expanded to include a full service “machinery moving” department as well. After twenty years of dependable service to the area, Padgett outgrew its original location at 5th and Main Street in New Albany, Indiana and moved across town to its present location at 901 East Fourth Street where a fabrication plant was built.
Based in Southern Indiana and serving Louisville, Kentucky and Region
Padgett’s 30 acre campus in New Albany, Indiana has over 230,000 square feet of office and building space under roof. It is from this location that all of Padgett’s crane, machinery moving, heavy-hauling, and fabrication services originate.
Padgett maintains a plant fabrication workforce of 80 employees and is an AISC certified Fabricator for Steel Building Structures and Simple Steel Bridges with Sophisticated Paint Endorsement. Padgett, Inc. is also a registered ISO 9001-2000 company.
